I managed to do a plate myself as you can see I am very proud of my work. It was such a lovely day and everybody just enjoyed creating and having their photos taken. I really love this old style school photography!

Last Sunday, I hosted a crockery decorating workshop at the Platform Festival. The crockery is going to be used in the ‘Heart & Home’ café. We had a great day lots of making and a tea dance going on at the same time.

The young people at Platform didn’t want to call the spaces in their building by conventional names — HALL / CAFE etc. So we worked together and created these names for the spaces — Café — HEART + HOME, Performance space — FRESH & LOUD,  Auditorium — LIVE & BOLD, Editing suites — CUT & PASTE,  Consultation room — SAFE & SOUND. They gave me the words and I designed the neons for them.

My very first two tomatoes this year. I am not sure why but this year my obsession with my tomatoes has decreased and I know my yield will be down incredibly on last year. Maybe I can blame the weather!

This is a long story, I have been working with the young people in Islington and all change for a couple of years now, originally introduced through The Sorrell Foundation Myplace Project. Architects Van Heyningen and Haward who have very sensitively and beautifully restored and added to the old Hornsey Bath House. The young people worked with the poet Yemisi Blake and wrote an amazing poem, as if they were the building. There was an opportunity to make a sign on the building (the building already has the great listed ‘Diving Lady’ neon, see more). What better but to put the young peoples own words on the building. So I was asked to do the typography and the colours. I was so excited when I saw it, immediately it made me smile. Platform has been created by Islington young people and I feel very honoured to be involved.

We had a really enjoyable evening at the On [Motivation] evening curated by It’s Nice That and held at the Red Bull Studios.

Mr Bingo was extremely funny and calm and Sam Bompass was incredibly hyper and enthusiastic, we were a very well chosen group of three. Great night really recommend the rest of the series.

Luke and I are tasting Sam Bompas’s nipple shaped jelly laced with alcohol!

Wellness: Guy Noble, UCLH Arts Curator, organised a great auction of Special edition prints in aid of the UCH Macmillan Cancer Centre held at our Her House Gallery. We had a great evening, we had an auctioneer from Bonhams and  sold nearly all the prints and raised a good amount of money. It was also a great excuse for me to get my chairs out and arrange them in formation. I have acquired quite a few more since the last exhibition.
