Lemmy absolutely loves the snow and wants to tell everyone!!!
When I was a little girl I always longed for snow, and if there was a chance that it might fall on my birthday it would have been the best gift in the world. But it seemed a very remote possibility.
But now after all these years my dream might come true.

We are in the middle of writing all our Her House Stories. I thought it would be good to collect all the phrases used on the Deptford train. This is the STOOL Collection, some are annoying, some are very simple, some make you smile.

The Dior exhibition and Drawing Fashion exhibition at the Design Museum made me think of my french grandmother, who we called Yaya, but her real name Cécile. She was a milliner for Norman Hartnell and a portrait painter and all the illustrations reminded me of a card she made me when I was small and kept for years and years, I hope I still have it but I have to have look for it. She was pretty amazing always immaculate, this image is taken in the interior of the terraced house she lived in in Holloway with my grandfather, my dad and his brother, not what you expected around there.

In New York recently I finally got to see the Highline Park. it’s the most perfect example of how an old, rotting piece of city infrastructure can be turned, by good designers, and committed people into one of the most beautiful parts of the city. It runs from The Meatpacking District to 34th Street – a good chunk of downtown Manhattan – zig-zagging it’s way up above 10th Avenue under, over and through buildings. It’s planted brilliantly, there are cafes along the way and great places to just sit and hang out. (more…)

As part of celebrating Gerrard’s life we collected words and things he used to say, from students and friends and put this small film together.

As soon as Gerrard knew he was very ill, he asked his family and a group of his close friends to arrange a party for his birthday on the 3rd of November. To invite all his family and friends and to have a glamorous occasion. He chose The Wapping Project as he loved it and had many a happy time there, we are so grateful to Jules for having such an amazing venue, looking after us all and making the evening so perfect.
With great sadness we embarked on our project, thinking all the time, will Gerrard like this and hearing his voice saying ‘are you serious?’, ‘hideous’, ‘terrible’ and ‘yes babes’, ‘beauuuuutiful’, ‘it was just what I was thinking, we must be connected in some way’.

Along side 11 other designers I was commissioned to create a card design for a given day of the 12 days of Christmas, mine was ‘Three French Hens’. So as I had gone to France and bought the metal stencils for this font, for my Tea building project a few years back. I thought that gave them good French credentials. Unfortunately even though my card was done and in on time, the project was canceled. Which I was a little annoyed about, as Christmas cards are hard to do on the best of days.
