The traffic is crazy in Delhi and when I was out there for nearly 50% of the time I was stuck in the back of a car watching out the window and I started jotting down the words on the backs of lorries, signs and things that amused me.
only me left here now from SUPERGROUP and Escape To Victory is on the TV !
last night Jake insisted we celebrate his departure in one of his favorite bars, see below
and a happy Jake

Momentary euphoria about getting the team back on home ground somewhat dissipated. HUGE relief to have Morag back but still two to go and STILL no confirmation for Luke’s flight. Stopped feeling like the banker in Monopoly and started to feel as though I’m on a diplomatic mission to get nationals back on home soil. Or like a singularly inept travel agent.
Isabel
Quick change and straight out to the opening of
Claire’s graphic art fair ‘PICK ME UP’ at Somerset
house, http://www.somersethouse.org.uk
I do Love London so much it is my home, and when you
have been away for a while you really realise what that
means and you appreciate your surroundings more and
more.
After being told today the earliest flight
was 8th May, we all descended into
despair for wanting to see our loved ones—
poets and dogs etc. We have just had
fabulous news and we are all on separate
planes all going in the right direction before
the end of the week! Feeling pleased!!
A cheers to Isabel in London, working so
hard all day to make this happen for us.
And going to have a good nights sleep!
Sweet homeward bound dreams.
Lots of love Shanghai Posse
Still some work being done to hide the modelmakers computer, which is a right old monstrocity it does not even work as being an honest design aesthetic, it is just plain ugly! we need to work harder to disguise it, but we have a secret plan.
Morag
From having no cleaning at all and working
in a totally dusty environment for weeks, now
the cleaning does not stop, every time you turn
around there are multiple cleaners right up next
to you with mops, it is totally one extreme or
the other.
Morag
2.30am, furniture in place and just about ready,
a few white neons were being installed as we
left for our hotel last night, so excited to see
it totally complete today.
morag
First lot of VIPS.

Mirror walls revealed!
Morag
Felt faintly ironic making this suitcase exhibit
at this moment in time — ‘London is Well Connected’.
Morag
We had been told yesterday that the plane had
been cancelled but until it was officially cancelled
on the virgin website we had to be prepared. We
worked all night and then to hotel pack bags,
checking the website until the last possible
moment. Isabel doing the same incase one got news
before the other and then off to the airport, we were
hopeful, texts from London saying Heathrow was
open. Then doom and gloom — CANCELLED —
in red letters! Now we are part of the waiting game.
Morag, Luke & Jake
Just as we left last night, work began on spraying
the carpet stencil in the VIP room. Very excited to
results this morning hope it has worked.
Morag
Adjusting lighting on suitcases, wait for the
neon to be switched on!
Morag
7.20am, the morning of our last build day, sounds like
flights probably ok for tomorrow and so back to London
we come. We have a list of many things to get through
but if we work steadily without too many hitches
we should manage it. Finished last night about
midnight so ran out of energy to put pics up. So here
are yesterdays pics.
Exactly 30 hours later the VIP furniture arrives back
to site WHITE, perfect! This bit of furniture makes me
laugh it is such strange proportions, but I like it.
Morag
Just checked 26 aluminium sheets containing
the intro text for each of the cases. All present
and correct, if slightly curled up in the top right
hand corner. Spent a therapeutic hour or so bending
26 corners back into shape. Strangely satisfying.
Didn’t think about volcanic ash at all.
Isabel
and deckchairs.
Morag
Been at the London Development Agency checking
remaining exhibition contents. Canvasses for
deckchairs fabulous but look faintly self-conscious
against the super corporate backdrop of the LDA –
as though they’ve come straight into work after
clubbing all night and forgotten to bring a
change of clothes.
Isabel
Very exciting day today, lots delivered and installed.
Especially our benches which made me super happy.
Looked very active downstairs I was stuck up in the
suitcase room with the neon guys and curtain fitters
for another day! Looks like same for me tomorrow
as lots of cases to fill. Morag
We’ve been working super hard getting the exhibition up so not too much time for exploring the rest of expo but on the way to and from the work everyday I can’t help but notice lots of new walls lining the roads everywhere around the expo site. (more…)
