ROLL OUT THE RED CARPET

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

The rain stopped for once and so I was able to wear my shoes to the Design Museum opening of the Louboutin show. Standing next to Luke’s classics.

MASQUERADE

Monday, April 30th, 2012

I am fascinated by masks and have collected them over many years, when I travel I will try and find masks to bring back and add to my collection. I bought very similar masks to these from a pop-up shop in Hoxton just before Christmas. SCP are now selling them made in India by the company Hay, they have souped the colours up but they are still great. I have bought them to hang them on the wall in an interior I am doing. I am incredibly inspired and am going to do some of my own masks very soon.

GOODY TWO SHOES

Saturday, April 28th, 2012

I was out strolling down Redchurch street, with Martyn and hanging in a shop window were lots of fluorescent shoes I was immediately drawn in. Next week is the Louboutin exhibition opening at the Design Museum and I was wondering what shoes to wear and then suddenly there they were in front of me shining bright designed by Tracey Neuls and individually handmade. I could not resist and a perfect fit and wonderfully comfortable, it had to be a purchase! Thanks to Yemi who was incredibly helpful and wonderful clever packaging. Then I had to go and buy an outfit to match the shoes! A very satisfying Saturday!

SPACES TO PLACES

Thursday, April 26th, 2012

It was an incredibly ugly night for people to come out and listen to me talking away for an hour and a bit but thank God people did come and the auditorium filled up nicely and I felt slightly more relaxed. This is only my second solo gig I have done where people had to pay to come and see me and so I had no idea if it was only going to be Luke. Huge thank you to the team at West of England Design Forum for asking me to talk and getting the people to come and thank you to everybody who came and for the very stimulating conversation in the bar afterwards.

TESTING TESTING

Thursday, April 26th, 2012

Luke and I arrived in Bristol on a very rainy and windy evening and went straight to the Arnolfini Bristol to set up my talk organised by the West of England Design Forum. A great but scary auditorium!
