PRAISED BY JUDGES FOR ITS ‘FEARLESSNESS’ & ‘EXUBERANT’ RESPONSE TO THE SITE

Thursday, January 31st, 2013

The AJ Small Projects Award, all of the 24 shortlisted projects had to do a 2min presentation and take 3 mins questions, extremely nerve racking. We could all sit in the sessions it was very fascinating and a really good format.  Then there was the opening of the exhibition and the announcement of the winner. We were Commended for the Small Projects Sustainability Prize, and we were super happy. A great project won the Sustainability prize — a visitor centre in Uganda and the Small Projects Prize went to The Gingerbread House, and the Transient Gallery received the Commendation.

We were so happy to be recognised among 229 entries.

EXTREME CONDITIONS

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013

Our cafe was originally only meant to exist until Christmas, but good news it looks like it is staying until May. So we have built an extension to provide a cozy internal space. New panels have been painted in our studio and went up yesterday.

More soft seating!

Friday, January 18th, 2013

We found out yesterday our Movement Cafe has been shortlisted for the Architects Journal Small Projects Award. We are so proud.

Out of 229 submissions we have got down to the 24 strong shortlist. Shortlist announcement parts 1  &  2 article.

A quote from the AJ announcement: The high quality of submissions has made it a tough call but this year’s shortlist is perhaps the strongest ever, writes Rory Olcayto
